Visitor Reviews
Awesome place! Full of history. Even the kids loved it. All the staff we're super welcoming and full of stories. My only complaint is no a/c in some spots and so hot. So bring a neck fan.
I absolutely loved visiting the Buggy Barn! The collection is incredible-not just the buggies themselves, but all of the fascinating historical items and miscellaneous artifacts throughout the museum. Mark is hilarious, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable. You can tell he has a real passion for preserving and sharing history. Paula also puts on a fantastic presentation and has a wealth of knowledge to share.
What really stood out to me was how welcoming everyone was. They encourage visitors to get up close to the displays, which makes the experience much more engaging and memorable. If you’re anywhere near Blanco, I highly recommend stopping by. It’s a unique, fun, and educational experience that I won’t forget!
We had a wonderful experience at the buggy barn. Sheriff Mark gave us a tour through the Entire museum. The price of the ticket was worth just hearing him give very informative information and he had us rolling on the floor with all of his funny jokes. Mark definitely made the tour very enjoyable. I've never seen such a variety of wagons and stage coaches and buggies. Quite amazing to say the least. We spent over four hours at the museum looking at everything. I highly recommend this great treasure.
We had a great time, Mark gave us a lot of interesting information and history about the buggys and wagons.
Very interesting and informative right here in Blanco. Very inexpensive for a family ($15 adults-$10 children).
It’s a must stop! Especially on your Texas bucket list! France’s is amazing. Very knowledgeable and very professional and friendly. You must see it to believe it. Horse carriages from around the world. We were not disappointed
I went there alone and because it was so interesting, I took family and friends. At these times the Western town was just being built. This place is fascinating ! On my independent tour, I first saw a fancy black hearse with glass windows. Going around, I also saw vehicles that the owner had bought from various movies. But it's upstairs on the second floor that draws interests. Here one sees wagons. I studied them, especially their brakes. And I understood how easily wagons without brakes could cause accidents. There were many buggy types, small to large, with many different features in designs and materials. As I studied them from the simplest to complicated ones, I discovered mechanical development patterns, leading to early motor vehicles. When I took a friend, the owner met us. This was because of a friend. She and her husband were friends of the owner. She asked him to show us the future Western town. And he did ! We were escorted in a slow moving horse - drawn buggy in the back of the museum. He pointed and talked what would be here and there. Do come and see this site ! Learning here is interesting and fun !
Pretty unique place. The buggies were cool, but I really enjoyed the small town and looking at all the old timey stuff.
Such a neat place and the Sheriff gave us a wonderful tour! Definitely recommend stopping by if you're in the area, but also worth the trip and there are plenty of other things in the area to make a weekend out of it.
Sheriff Mark greeted us at the gate when we arrived. He showed us around regailing stories about the movies certain buggies were used in what movie. It was a very informative & fascinating tour. We enjoyed walking through the various western town. We spent about 2 1/2 hrs roaming around.
